For over twenty years, Stretch Ferreira has been one man amongst the magic that is Mana Pools, witnessing not only the change of seasons but also studying and learning from their reasons. Renowned for his unique and special relationship with the animals of Mana Pools, a safari with Stretch is indeed a very personalized and unique experience.

Decades of interaction with the same elephant bull, lions and wild dogs has produced a bond between them that is palpable and only attainable after years of mutual trust and respect. Come and join him on a safari of a lifetime as he shows you Mana Pools in his own inimitable way…crawl with him amongst the wild dog, walk with him beside buffalo and eland herds and stand in awe with him beneath a majestic old elephant bull. Let him personally introduce you to some of his four legged “old friends”. We guarantee you’ll return to “civilization” with a newfound or renewed love and respect for nature and all things natural.

Tented Camp
Our Traditional Tented Camp is nestled under a grove of magnificent Mahogany and Albida trees on the banks of the Zambezi River in Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe. Overlooking the Muchinga Hills in Zambia, the camp comprises luxury tented accommodation with open air dining facilities and a covered bar/lounge area. A campfire seating area is just metres from the rivers edge offering great game viewing moments when animals come down to drink.

Each luxury tent is furnished with twin beds (four-poster mosquito nets), teak dressing table and wardrobe. Ensuite facilities include flush toilets and hot showers. Accommodation is on a fully inclusive basis.

Activities offered in camp include guided walks, game drives, fishing and canoeing.
As Mana Pools is one of that truly unspoilt wilderness areas in Africa, animals are frequent visitors in camp and are very comfortable with human presence.
This allows for excellent photographic opportunities both in camp and on all activities.

Canoeing Trails

A canoe safari down the mighty Zambezi River offers a little of everything for everyone. Sand bars, reed beds, floodplains, cliffs and mountains all provide a stunning backdrop to the multitude of birds and animals to be seen as you paddle downstream. All of our trails are professionally guided and your every need is taken care of. Meals and overnight stops are taken at regular intervals and provide an opportunity to explore the surrounds on foot.
