We drove from the Harare Airport to Manyuli Camp in the Omay. First time for Dave and I to hunt from this camp.

Day 1: Lots of driving getting a feel for the area and PAC movement

Day 2: As above. Followed 5 bulls but turned around after 2 hours – worried about other hunters.

Day 3: Followed 2 bulls that had raided 4 nights in a row from near Karoi turn off. Followed for 45 minutes. Unfortunately poachers also following, they shot a bull only 11 metres from us. So we turned back and spent the rest of the day helping deploy armed scouts.

Day 4: To Ward 7 near Ume/Matusadona boundary 2 bulls had raided everyday. So we sat on a vantage point near the fields and saw the 2 bulls coming in at last light. We went down and had them walk on to us just 200 metres from the fields. Dave shot a 20lbs one tusked bull at 15 yards with a frontal brain shot, a little high but knocked him down. First shot exited back of head. Second and third shots were perfect!
