12 Day Hunt

Day One: in Dande East, Karunga camp. Drove around area looking for signs. Saw old bull track and a few cow herd tracks nothing to follow.

Day Two: Binga Road, nothing fresh to follow. Walked to pans saw Sable, Buffalo and old ele bull tracks. Followed nice bull track late in the afternoon but crossed border into Moz.

Day Three: followed cow herd with two bulls in it for five hours from Gonono village but no luck. Afternoon drove to DSA.

Day Four: drove Grass road, nice track but going into Moz. Drove broken bridge road saw jumbos in communal. Did not see ivory. Afternoon walked through jess from old Kanyemba road to grass road. Picked up two bull tracks followed larger track for about 20 minutes to find a +/-60lbs ele. Gabriele went for frontal brain, followed by a few body shots , a short 20minute follow up. Gabriele finished the bull off with a perfect frontal brain at 20 yards.

Day 5: elephant recovery.

Day 6: hunt for zebra none found. Short walk for bushbuck.

Day 7: hunt for buffalo no fresh sign, long walk through jess and springs.

Day 8: short walk after dagga boy but crossed boundary.

Day 9: early walk through jess then back to camp to relax rest of day.

Very enjoyable and exciting hunt. Extremely accurate organization of the hunt and of the camps. Even though I would have preferred to be brought to Dande North immediately. I thank you for having made of my first hunt in Africa an unforgettable experience with such an important trophy.
