The hunt started well as we managed to get bait as we managed to get a zebra, tuskless and buff cow. There were a lot of lions moving around and we had them on bait in no time, but all the wrong ones. We had lioness and cubs, young males and we also passed up at lion on day 6 which was really huge but did not have much of a mane. For the next 2 weeks the lions gave us the run around until we got a big male on the bait which was accompanied by a younger one. We sat several mornings and evenings, we also attempted to track them but with the long grass we failed. After the 7th time in the blind on the second last day, at last light, the two of them pitched up and Bart made a great shot. A huge lion with worn teeth and pads.

A really fantastic hunt and an amazing lion.

Another really amazing thing was, throughout the hunt we had 16 leopard sightings in broad daylight and not only on lion bait but also driving around.
