We stared off in Ward 11 for 3 days and saw lots of elephant but no big bulls. So we moved over the East. The East started off well with decent movement. 6 bulls seen but best was +/-35lbs. however as the moon got fuller, bull movement slowed down. Good sable, buff sign seen. After 10 days in the East back to Ward 11. 12 bulls seen in Ward 11 but the biggest seen was +/-30lbs. so we decided not to shoot one.
On the last day for a change we hunted the DSA for buffalo. We followed a nice herd of +/-100 buff from 7 am and finally Joe shot at 11:30pm. Unfortunately the bullet went through a sapling of about 3” diameter but still managed to hit the bull o the shoulder slowing it down considerably. He left the herd with one other bull and after 4 hours of superb tracking, we finally had him. Some very tense moments but a great way to end the hunt.
