It was a pleasure to have Mikhail in Dande for 14 days hunting. The buffalo hunting was very hard as the bush was still very thick and there was lots of water. We did find a nice bull which Mikhail shot. Unfortunately it was wounded late afternoon and we tracked it till sundown. We were confident of getting him in the morning as he had broken away from the herd, and had lain down twice. However, that night we had heavy rainfall which washed away the tracks.

The elephant hunt was fantastic, with us following numerous bulls in the thick cover before finding a super old bull, which we decided to take. Mikhail shot him with his 470. The bullet went below the brain but penetrated over 60” and ended up in the heart.

The following day we made a blind from at the carcass and shot a massive old hyena at last light. The first day we also had to shoot a young elephant bull in self defense that charged. He had an old .303 bullet and a muzzle loader bullet in him.

It was a hard hunt but it was what I like most of all when hunting elephants.
It was excellent hunt for all of us and I was really happy for Nikolay with his lioness and sudden elephant.
As I have already told Buzz I would like to thank You all for a very good organization of the hunt and super
professional PHs like Richi and Alan. And of course I would like to come back next Year and
I have already planned this with Buzz! Thank You again !
