Day 1

Picked up tracks at 7.45am on the first morning. Followed them for about 1 hour. Unfortunately the winded us and ran off. Continued tracking and again were winded. Picking up the trail again we followed until 11.30am and found 2 big cows at the back of the herd. One was a tuskless without a calf. We got as close as 12 yards when they spun around and faced us - ears out. Harry made a frontal brain shot which was a little low, his follow up shot went through the heart.

Day 2

Walked the lake shore and saw bushpigs, bushbuck, and a pangolin.

Day 3 - 4

More Walks

Day 5

Finally shot an impala ram for meat. Harry made a perfect shot with Myles .375 H&H.

Day 6

While walking we came across 2 ele bull herds and 2 herds of cows.

Day 7

Myles and Harry flew back from Sijarira to Harare with Giles into Charles Prince airport. Trackers, Bongi and Norest drove Myles cruiser home. Harry spent the night at Gecko Gardens before flying home the next day.

Client Comment

Overall hunt was great fun. Longest impala hunt in history, culminated in ram taken on the 5th afternoon.
Had impala and veggies - Harry now happy with the chef.

We tracked up onto the ele's on the first morning of the trip, caught up to the ele's 3 times before we were actually able to see them. Found tuskless and tusked - guarding the backdoor - tuskless turned to face us at twelve yards. The first shot was low and right, she turned and I took the 2nd shot through left and right shoulder and the heart. She died there. Great Great FUN!
