Christian shot a buffalo cow for bait on the first hunting day. It was shot quartering away at 40 yards. It ran +/- 100 yards and lay down. We followed up and found her lying down. She stood up and a further two shots were put into finish her off. One bullet was recovered from the first shot which was found in the shoulder on the opposite side – perfectly mushroomed.
10 days into the hunt we shot an elephant bull. The first shot was frontal at +/- 20 yards. The shot was slightly low, the elephant turned and Christian put in a shoulder shot which went through the heart. A few more shots were put in to the spine hip area which put the bull down. Then a couple more shots in the back of the head to finish him off.
13th day shot a sable (45”) broadside at 120m. Hit high spine, bullet found under skin on opposite side, mushroomed, but lost some weight. Christian used his .300.
