Day 1-7 in Makuti going after buffalo. Saw buffalo every day, we did lots of walking. Marius shot his first bull on the 4th morning at about 8:50am. Nice dagga boy 39” with 12” bosses. The 2nd buffalo was shot on day 7 at 5pm, it measured 39.5” with 13” bosses.
Omay on day 8, arriving at lunch time and did a short drive in the afternoon. 9th day saw elephant, 1 tuskless but had a calf so turned her down. Day 10 we walked through the Mroba jess bumping 3 herds and shotting a single tusked cow side brain shot at 20 yards. Day 11 saw 3 herds of elephant cows but nothing to shoot. Day 12 starting at 5:30am, followed tracks off elephant herd. Good tracking and at 9:15am shot tuskless cow frontal brain shot at 20 yards. All and all a good hunt with lots of walking.

This was my second hunt with Charlton McCallum Safaris and as expected, a well organized hunt delivering on all that was expected of them. Had a fantastic time with PH Rich Tabor, tracking dagga boys in Makuti and elephant in Omay. Rich guided us into many herds of dagga boys and tuskless elephant, and looking for the most suitable trophies, only shooting hard bossed buffalo. The cameraman on this hunt was Justin Drainer who did an excellent job on capturing the hunt on film. Would fully recommend Charlton McCallum Safaris, as well as PH Rich Tabor and cameraman Justin Drainer.
