Norbert celebrating his 80th birthday, hunted a PAC bull in Nyamuswa. The first day we tracked eles from the surrounding fields but never caught up with them.

An early start on the second day saw us going past one of several polling booths as it was Election Day. At about 8am, we followed a large herd that had decimated a whole field of maize. 4 hours later we caught up with them in very thick bush, got within 15 yards of the milling herd and selected a roving bull that saw us and started to approach us curiously. Norbert gave it a frontal brain shot dropping the bull. The bullet finally lodged on the skin of the back of the shoulder +/- 3m penetration and was in perfect condition. Recovery was done the following day as it was late afternoon. We then spent several days relaxing in the beautiful camp and also did quite a few horse rides through awesome country and saw quite a few eles on horse back. We went into Harare a day early and had a great last night meal at Amanzi a nice restaurant in Harare.

We look forward to having Norbert back for a tuskless ele in Makuti next year October.

Once more a very exciting, well organised hunt. The bush was very thick, but thanks to the extraordinary trackers we managed to locate the problem elephant with had been causing chaos in the villagers and shoot it on day 2. Due to the heavy rains we were unable to shoot plainsgame which I like to test bullets on. Many thanks to you all and see you in 09 for a tuskless.
