Weather was hot and dry, much of Dande South was burned out. Buffalo 38” bull was shot out of a herd of +/- 200. The same buffalo was shot 2 times on the previous day and we managed to track it down on the third. The Buffalo was shot broadside at 50 yards high lung shot. Ran 60 yards and died. Bullet (barnes x) removed intact. Signs of 2 other herds were seen along the Angwa boundary.
We saw lots of elephant cows, concentrated on an area, 7 tuksless were seen, but no big tuskless. We shot a slightly bigger tuskless on day four. Perfect side brain shot at 15 yards. Bullet exited behind ear hole on opposite side.
Petr took a baboon on day 6 and tried for a good bushbuck but had no luck It was uncomfortably hot as usual in October and Petr took strain with the heat. Day 7 was a rest day. Day 8 we hunted early morning, saw eland (no bull), warthogs, 4 elephant cows, baboons and impala. Petr shot 1 big male baboon at +/-100yards. Returning to camp, we rested that afternoon before returning to Harare a day early.
